Here’s a general list of items we most often need:

School supplies – rulers, geometry sets, blankets, bed sheets (twin), pillows, black shoes, sandals, socks, suits, light jackets or sweaters, razors, deodorant, battery operated alarm clocks (no radios), laundry soap, bathing soap, lotion/Vaseline, toothbrushes, towel, book bags, tennis shoes, t-shirts (red, blue, black, white, yellow), trousers (black, blue, brown), jeans, combs/brushes, pens/pencils, combination pad locks, dictionaries, plastic (or unbreakable) dishes and cups, silverware, scientific calculators, flash lights, batteries, soccer cleats and equipment, soccer balls, etc

Benevolent outreaches – clothing (all kinds), shoes (dress, tennis, and other), toys, books, DVD’s, videos, cassettes, walkman (CD, cassette, or radio), IPOD, MP3’s, Bibles, magazines, jewelry, baseball caps, sandals, kitchen supplies and utensils (no plastic), blankets, pillows, computers, cameras, household items, storage units, musical  instruments, unbreakable dishes, extra school supplies, sports equipment, etc

Income generation and office – cameras (newer models preferred), 35mm film, memory cards, computers (2000 or newer models with cables and at least basic Microsoft office software and all instructions), video camera (2002 model or newer), books/magazines that teach skills in photography, sports, business, management, leadership, etc

SHARE YOUR TALENTS WITH US – You were given gifts and talents for a reason. Consider sharing some with children and youth in Uganda for one month to one year or more.

PRAY – Pray for God’s wisdom, favor, and provision to always be abundant, that children and youth’s lives would be blessed, healed, helped, and prosperous, that our friends and families would always be safe, productive, healthy and prosperous, and that Africa would rise to be all that God destined! We pray the same for you!

CONNECT US WITH OTHERS – Most relationships we have developed in this mission are by friends connecting us with friends who connect us with friends. We love to network, it produces greater fruit and helps us all excel where we are excellent while encouraging one another in our gifts and talents.

Think through your contacts (friends, relatives, neighbors, co-workers, etc…) and see if, just maybe, someone has a skill they could share, a seed they would like to sow, items they want to send, or expertise they could lend.

For example, we have many building projects coming ahead. We will need architects and builders and donors. We have book projects that need publishing, know a publisher? Lots of ministry opportunities, come minister. Teaching and training…there might be a place for someone you know.

Sometimes, it’s a high school or college graduate with no firm plan for the future. Send them to us and we will help them develop one. There are so many ways to connect; we cannot list them all here. It just takes a contact and the rest works it’s self out. We look forward to hearing from you or your friend.

HOST A FRIEND-RAISER – Help raise money for The Redeemed, Africa or any of our projects by hosting a friend-raiser.

A friend-raiser is a planned event (at home, church, civic club, or other) where you gather people together, share your heart for The Redeemed, Africa, and your desire to join with others in support of our mission.

You ask your guest to contribute in some way.

Some ideas of ways to contribute are:

• Collect direct contributions
• Sell something you bought or made (or have a garage sale)
• Sell African items (animal carvings, purses, picture frames, art work, other wood, stone, and metal work, etc) that you purchase from our suppliers
• Have your group save their change, collect it each month and send it in (you can get a whole neighborhood or class in on something like this)
• Do some kind of a marathon or car wash or your own creative idea
• Ship a box of school supplies
• Have a sewing or art party and send your creations as gifts
• And more
