Koja's Farm - farming project for food, training, jobs, income generation and community development.
"reaching rural communities through development"
Koja means Uncle in Luganda. This project was inspired by David's uncle who owned the land. Having allowed squatters to remain on his land for years, he always prayed that one of his children would do something on the land to help the people, many of which are refugees from Rwanda.
This project begins on fifty donated and titled acres connecting to 650 more acres for potential outreach and development. We are beginning with a farm, church, and children's home on the fifty acres.
This farm will provide food to our children's programs and homes, jobs for community members, training for youth, and a family home for more children.
We intend to purchase the remaining 650 acres for $100,000 (that's less than $200 an acre) and begin a development project that would include schools, businesses, roads, housing, medical services, and more.
The project would serve more than 2000 people directly, would improve the economy of the area significantly, take care of more than 100 orphaned children, and would indirectly affect thousands more in the nearby communities.
